Olivia Kennedy
Junior Copywriter
Growing up, I spent my Saturdays running the halls of the old Flynn Wright at building on SW 9th street while my dad worked on accounts. I’d never imagined I would be back professionally. And when I went off to college in Omaha for a degree in psychology, I SWORE academia was my calling.
But when I serendipitously stepped in as a copywriter in the midst of my postgrad degree and teaching college courses, I got to work a style of writing academia really kind of despises: creativity, brevity and persuasion. I happen to love it, even more than teaching.
It’s a bit ironic that it took me 27 years to accept that I’ve got the ad gene in my blood, but I’m nothing if not relentless to try and go against the grain first.
